Bernalillo County, NM – An adult son of an FBI Special Agent has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a 13-year-old boy.
Police in Albuquerque, New Mexico, have made a second arrest related to the shooting, implicating the son of a federal agent.
Thomas Acee, 21, was arrested on December 5 after police linked him to the August 18 shooting that killed 13-year-old Michael Tubb. Reportedly, Michael was in a vehicle that Thomas fired upon. Another teenager in the car, whose identity has not been disclosed, was also shot and injured but survived.
Thomas now faces several felony charges, including first-degree murder. He is reportedly the son of FBI Special Agent Bryan Acee, who is well-known in the Albuquerque area and has made appearances on local media to discuss crime issues.
The first suspect arrested in the case was 22-year-old Michael Flores. Flores was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center on November 13 and also faces first-degree murder charges. Authorities later determined that Thomas was with Michael Flores when the shooting occurred.
Thomas and Michael are accused of firing on a vehicle in downtown Albuquerque. The vehicle was driven by a 17-year-old girl, who survived the attack, while Michael Tubb, seated in the passenger seat, was fatally shot.
In addition to the felony murder charge, Thomas faces charges of aggravated assault and battery with a deadly weapon, shooting from a motor vehicle, nine felony counts of tampering with evidence, nine counts of conspiracy to commit a felony, and two counts of attempting to commit a felony.
Thomas is currently being held without bail at the Metropolitan Detention Center.
