A plastic surgeon from Beverly Hills has been arrested and accused of drugging, raping, and recording a woman while sexually assaulting her while she was unconscious.
Dr. Babak Hajhosseini, 42, was arrested on November 26th by the Los Angeles Police Department after one of his employees reported that he had sexually assaulted her, according to officials. He is the founder of the Beverly Hills-based Wound & Burn Centers of America.
According to authorities, only one woman has come forward so far, but they believe there may be other victims and are encouraging them to step forward.
Police said that Babak used job recruiting websites to lure women to his home, where he would brag about his residence and his experience treating residents from some of the city’s wealthiest neighborhoods.
The LAPD stated that Babak offered high hourly wages to entice women into working for him. He would then ask the victims to work overtime hours at his home.
One employee alleged that she was pressured to drink alcohol at Babak’s residence, after which she promptly lost consciousness, police said. He would then rape the victim, record her, and take pictures of her.
Babak was granted bail three days after his arrest in November, reportedly posting a $2 million bond. On December 23rd, the district attorney’s office filed several charges against him. The charges include two counts of rape by use of drugs, one count of rape of an unconscious person, one count of oral copulation by anesthesia or controlled substance, three counts of oral copulation of an unconscious or asleep person, and one count of sodomy of an unconscious victim.
Reportedly, his burn center is described as the “world’s leading provider of wound healing services.”
Detectives have asked that anyone with information contact Officer Lee at the Operations-West Bureau, Special Assault Section, at 213-473-0447 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
