A man from Louisiana kidnapped a teen girl he met online, then he left her in the woods with a tent, food, and water after he had sex with her.
28-year-old Alexander Materne was arrested after he picked up a Tennessee teenager and then took her back to his house for sex. He then dumped her in the woods with a tent and food while he went to his family to celebrate Christmas in Jennings, Louisiana.
Reportedly, Alexander Materne met the 14-year-old girl on an online gaming platform, and he made plans to pick her up in Tennessee and bring her back to his home in St. Rose, Louisiana, on Dec. 23.
Reportedly, after they had sex, the teen girl said how old she was, so he dumped her in the woods with a tent and food in another city.
Reportedly, the teen’s family did their own investigation to track down Alexander, and then they contacted police in Louisiana.
Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Gerald Sticker said about the parents, “They were the key to all of this.” “I’m telling you, if they want a job, I’ll hire both of these parents as investigators.”
Authorities eventually found Alexander at his family’s home, and he then agreed to show the police where he dropped the girl off, and it was about 42 miles from his home. She had been there for about two days.
The police found the teen girl at the tent and took her to the local hospital for a medical evaluation, and then she was reunited with her family.
Alexander faces numerous charges, including aggravated kidnapping of a child and felony counts of human trafficking and carnal knowledge. Jail records do not show if he has an attorney who could speak on his behalf.
“You can’t make this stuff up. It’s a Christmas miracle that she was found safe. This thing could’ve ended badly,” Sticker said.
