Baltimore County, MD – A mass shooting was reported in Towson, Maryland, on Tuesday night near a funeral home.
At around 7:15 p.m., police were called to the area of Loch Raven Blvd after reports of multiple gunshots.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a vehicle that had rolled over and was in flames.
As reported, one person is confirmed dead, and at least nine others were injured. The injured victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The incident is under investigation, and police are working to determine exactly how many people were shot.
Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough stated that the shooter or suspect was known to the victims and that the shooting was intentional and targeted at individuals involved in the incident.
The investigation is still in its early stages. Police are piecing together the events that led to the crash and shooting. Evidence of gunfire was found on the façade of a nearby building, and shell casings were recovered from the scene.
Local authorities have indicated that the incident appears to be isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Reportedly, gunfire damaged the exterior of the funeral home, but authorities clarified that the shooting does not appear to be related to the funeral home itself.
Other shootings in nearby neighborhoods were also reported around the same time, and authorities are investigating those incidents as well.
