A Texas father who had been working on a lighting project at NASA was murdered on a freeway while driving home from work.
He was shot by a stray bullet, and now there’s a desperate manhunt for the suspect.
Thirty-seven-year-old Robert Schorovsky was driving his box truck on Gulf Freeway when he was shot at about 10:30 p.m. on November 2nd. After being shot in the moving vehicle, he lost control of the truck, hitting two other vehicles before coming to a stop.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition but tragically passed away two days later due to his injuries.
As of now, police believe the shooting may have been an incident of road rage.
Robert’s wife, Brittany Schorovsky, reportedly said they are all in shock and that it has been rough for the family. She mentioned that there was only one gunshot, with no bullet holes in the truck or windows shattered—just the one shot that hit her husband.
Robert was a supervisor for Bright Lights, a company responsible for creating holiday light displays on public buildings, such as the Houston Zoo and Galaxy Lights at the Johnson Space Center. He was driving home from work at the time of the incident.
According to Brittany, Robert was on his way back from setting up lights at the NASA building when the shooting occurred.
She believes her husband likely had the windows down and was leaning toward the passenger side to roll it up when a single bullet struck him in the head.
She also shared that authorities informed them it could take up to three months to determine the exact type of bullet.
Police have not yet found any video evidence or witnesses who can identify the shooter.
Brittany stated that she does not believe her husband was targeted or that the shot was intentional.
Robert and Brittany have three children, aged 14, 11, and 9.
Right now, the family is trying to cope and prepare for their first Christmas without their dad.
If you have any information about the incident, please contact the Houston Police Department. Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward.
